Today will be the last day in the office this year. I’d like to thank the women of Oklahoma for an exciting 2009! Here’s a recap of the highlights:
January: Our State Evangelism Conference was cancelled at the last minute due to a crazy ice storm! But never fear, Kelly Minter and Mary Jo Sharp are coming for a return visit in 2010. Mark your calendars January 26.
April: More than 2,200 women gathered at Falls Creek for the annual Oklahoma Ladies’ Retreat. We all woke up saying “Ta da!” after being encouraged by Liz Curtis Higgs.
June/July: We hosted two Mother/Daughter weekend events at CrossTimbers. It was definitely 24 hours with the one who matters most!
August: More than 600 women gathered at Del City, First Southern for our SWEET Saturday equipping event. There’s nothing more important our office does than preparing women to do the work God has called them to do in their community and their local church.
September/October: In February we hosted our first Girls Night Out event at Oklahoma Baptist University. But the fall was a whirlwind of being on the campuses of Northeastern and the University of Oklahoma. Speaker Marian Jordan challenged co-eds to accept Christ and we saw dozens do that!
October: Rachel Lovingood and Jennifer Landrith were the perfect fit for our Ministry Wives Weekend. We used the title of their Bible study “In Our Shoes”. It had to be our funnest weekend of ministry to these precious wives.
November: In our office, November is the highlight of our year when it comes to missions. We get to host Missionary Parents, retired Missionaries and organize our annual Missions and Ministries Celebration. What an incredible afternoon of celebrating what God is doing in our country and around the world.
These are just highlights of the events we do, but it’s not all that was accomplished. This blog was completed in the fall, we produced the annual State Missions Offering materials and worked significantly on our website. We look forward to a great year in 2010 and hope you’ll join us and meet with us right here on our blog!
So Merry Christmas from our office to your computer!
